Our Story

At AS Marine Services, we specialise in the survey and inspection of steel narrowboats, widebeams and other craft on UK inland waterways. We're dedicated to delivering thorough and reliable surveys . We want to help clients to better understand their vessels and feel informed and empowered, and ultimately to have an enjoyable boating experience. We bring a collective 20 years experience in the marine industry and a true passion for boating and canals.

We offer a range of services, including pre-purchase surveys, hull only surveys, insurance surveys and engine inspections.

Who we are

Principal Surveyor, Aimee BSc(Hons) Dip.S.C.Sur IMarEST, brings years of practical experience working in boatyards, scientific knowledge and specialist training with the Lloyds Maritime Academy (National Maritime Training Centre) and the Yacht Designers and Surveyors Association. Fully qualified and also a member of the Institute of Marine, Engineering, Science & Technology. As a long time boater and historic narrowboat owner, Aimee understands just how important boats can be to us as homes, security, and the sentimental value they can hold.

Marine Engineer and highly regarded welder and historic boar restorer, Steve, is available for detailed engine inspections. Perfect for those who want to get under the rocker covers and really understand their engine!
